Bracket Structure
This year’s tournament will feature a 66-team double-elimination bracket, preceded by an initial seeding round.
All teams will begin in the seeding round. Each team will play four matches (or three, if they receive a bye). During this round, teams will compete against others with the same number of losses, resulting in increasingly balanced matchups as the round progresses.
Once the seeding round is complete, all teams will advance to the main double-elimination bracket. Seeding for this stage will be determined by performance in the seeding round:
- Teams with stronger performance will receive a lower seed and a more favorable path in the first-chance bracket. Undefeated teams are guaranteed a top 5 seed.
- Teams with more losses will receive a higher seed and will face more challenging opponents earlier in the bracket.
Important: Results from the seeding round are used for placement only and do not carry over into the double-elimination stage. Regardless of seeding round performance, every team enters the double-elimination bracket with two opportunities (two losses) before elimination.
In addition, there will be three single-elimination consolation brackets for teams eliminated from the double-elimination bracket.
This format was selected to create more competitive matchups between similarly ranked teams while also increasing the total number of matches played.
