Welcome to Wayne County Bible Quizzing!
Bible Quizzing is an opportunity for young people from different churches to come together to compete. Bible quizzing builds friendships, encourages teamwork, and strengthens relationships with God and the church.
Bible Quizzing teams compete over a different section of the Bible each year. Following up from the 2024 Quizzing season which focused on the first part of Luke, the 2025 Quizzing season will focus on the end of Luke and the book of Acts.

If you or a child you know is interested in trying out quizzing, contact us, and we can help you find a team!

How Bible Quizzing Works
Each match of Bible Quizzing consists of 15 questions. Each team can only have 4 quizzers playing at a time, but teams can substitute players in and out during timeouts between questions. There are 2 teams that quiz against each other during a match.
For each question, the quizmaster will start reading a question aloud. Quizzers on either team can buzz in at any point, and the quizmaster will stop reading the question. The quizzer that buzzed in now has 30 seconds to give an answer. If the answer is correct, their team is awarded 10 points. If it is incorrect, that team is given an error and the full question is read for a player on the opposite team, who has a chance to answer the question (within 30 seconds) for 10 points. The first four errors for each team carry no penalty, but every error after that results in a -5 point penalty.
Examples of quizzing questions from the 2024 material:
- Q: Blessed are whom, for theirs is the kingdom of God?
- (A: You who are poor – Luke 6:20 ESV)
- Q: If anyone would come after Jesus, let him do what?
- (A: Deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow him – Luke 9:23 ESV)
- Q: Situation question, who said this and to whom: “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on.”
- (A: Jesus said this to his disciples – Luke 12:22 ESV)
There are additional bonus points available. If four different members of a team buzz in and correctly answer a question during a match, the team is awarded 20 point team bonus. Additionally, if a quizzer answers 3 questions correctly in a match, their team is awarded 5 bonus points for a “quiz out”, and they cannot buzz in for any more questions. For additional scoring details, see the scores page.
After 15 questions (or 18, if a tiebreaker is necessary), the team with the most points is the winner!
